ABOUT AFLU

The presidents of the state arts organizations have united to advocate and promote arts education with the theme of Arts for Life. Leaders from UMEA, UAEA, UDEO and UACCT created a website of resources for teachers about social and emotional health and arts education.

To build awareness about the importance of arts education, teachers are invited to share their stories of student growth and transformation as students engage in arts education using #artsforlifeutah.

K-12 Multidisciplinary Art Competition

Each year, Arts for Life Utah sponsors a K-12 multidisciplinary, bracket-style, online art competition. Now is the time to assign students work that they could enter in the contest and to help them explore how art impacts their life personally. 

  • Use ready-to-teach Canvas modules for each art form are available on the AFLU website under the “Resources'' tab. 

  • Post a flier in your classroom and share with colleagues and parents. 

  • Follow @artsforlifeutah for updates, examples, and deadline reminders.

All submissions will be entered to win the grand prize: a choice of a pair of Airpods or a $100 Visa gift card. Judges’ Choice awards will also be given in each art form (dance, visual art, drama, and music).
